These don’t have to be the only aspects of your life enthused with elegant 60s chic, as it is becoming all the rage to decorate your home with that mid-century-modern style. Here are some top furniture tips so your dining room will be ready to hold a dinner party with Don and Betty Draper.
It is important that the dining room table is very minimalist and basic to achieve that true 60s vibe. A plain wooden Danish table would be perfect for the Mad Men look. Or an alternative option could be looking for something with a glass top and a single wide wooden or plastic table leg supporting in the middle. The accompanying chairs must all match the table, so it’s worth buying a set together, either vintage or new.
To bring the full 60s Mad Men feeling to your dining room, you must invest in a retro lampshade. It should certainly be either suavely minimalist or groovily over the top in an art deco way. Consider the different colours that would match the rest of your room.
If you have an integrated kitchen and dining room, then your appliances must match the décor or you will ruin the illusion. So think about your oven and fridge and search for vintage or modern replicas to fit the bill. You’re looking for rounded edges and plain shiny white or pastel colours.
